Through this process we decided that teachers should have opportunities to reflect on their strengths and weaknesses as teachers and have the chance to have choice with some of the Professional Development workshops they attended.  We started offering Teacher Support Sessions once a month where we offered 3 professional development workshops.  These workshops were planned based on survey data collect from teachers based on their interests and needs.  This helped our teachers become proactive in their learning and allowed us to meet the needs of all of our teachers.  The Power of Choice was a topic I picked up from several books I read throughout this cohort.  Most of the texts I read show positive evidence of effectiveness when teachers and students have the power of choice.  In my Research class, I focused on school moral and culture and how it affects students academic performance.  It was evident that when teachers have a choice in what they are doing they are happier and are willing to work harder and teach with more precision.
